Reading all the above posts and then checking out said product descriptions both the Redline MTL and Castrol SMX-S are both synthetic and have pretty much the same viscosity 70W80 & 75/85 respectively while the Royal Purple is also synth but has a viscosity of 10W30.
Pricing seems similar +/- a few quid.
I'm inclined to go for the Redline or Castrol but what further thoughts re the differing viscosity numbers?

T5 box should be Dexron II fluid.
Well done! ALL World Class T-5 use ATF oil and NOT a big heavy gear oil or Redline MTL! The NON-World Class T-5s use 70 wt gear oil. That being said, Castrol SMX-S shouldn't kill it and might even improve it. It is made for manuals that require thinner fluid. Never tried it though.

So what IS the best gearbox oil to use in a T5?
