Chaps,

I have seen a 2.4 JTD for sale and it's got 100,000 on the clock but had a new engine put in about 24,ooo miles ago.

What's peoples opinion on this, is it going to cause me a few problems or has the engine been in long enough to iron out any problems?

Also, if i do buy it will any warrenty company cover me or do they avid engine replcements like the plague?

Cheers

John

Have to wonder why the engine needed to be replaced - something drastic must have taken place not to have rebuilt the original. I'd want to know what failed and why it failed - if the car's been poorly maintained the question is what else is worn to oblivion?

Pwig,

Your a man in the know. Apart from the engine am I looking at paying big bills for g/box problems etc etc when the milage start to creep up way past 100,000.

Also, where do ou think I'd stand trying to get a warrenty on it?

Cheers

John
