I have been told by Angel tuning that it is only possible to remap about 50% of the current 2.0d BMW range. It's a £400 gamble that I don't want to take.
Angel tuning remapped my Alfa 159 and it made a huge difference, I would like to get my 5 series done, anyone got any suggestions?

Not without opening the ecu which would show obvious signs of damage to the ecu casing & probably voiding your warranty unfortunately.

Ah ok, what about Tunit and one of their plug in devices then? The 184hp engine is listed on the their website.

I've got a CRDT unit from DTUK for my 177 320d and I'm very impressed.

The guy (Andrew) is very easy to deal with too.

Surely if they can't map it, they'll not charge you? How is it a £400 gamble? You're making no sense.

It's a gamble as they remove the ecu and take it apart, at that point they can tell if the ecu can be remapped. BMW aparently use 2 different types one can be remapped the other can't and the only way to tell is by using this method. As the cost is in the removal of the unit the charge stands regardless.
This is what i have been told by Angel tuning
Hope this makes sense

The gamble should be theirs, not yours.
