Bonnet vents

Hi all .Ireally like the bonnet vents fitted to later 350i s2s.Are they cosmetic or really help with cooling under bonnet. temperatures.Does it help with air over air intake to air flow meter.....Just missed the vents . Mike s2350i.....Any one know how much for a second hand bonnet.Or has any body got any moulds for the vents with out buying a complete bonnet .Thanks guys Mike.......Better hide this from the Mrs lol............

I hate to be an anorak but bonnet vents never on the 350,only on later 390s, and all of the others (400 onwards )

Depends what you mean by vents.

Several of the earlier Wedge bonnets had vents, albeit not 390/400/450 style ones (which are by far the best at filling up the battery well with water ). 'Holes' in the bonnet they were though.

The vents are the ones fitted as stated as per 390 .400. type.i just think that they look a bit meaner...... Iknow quite a few cars have them .Cheers all Mike

I agree graham..I dont think they let engine heat out as much as water in..Ziga

Mine allow the battery to keep topped up with rainwater ;^)
