Stupid question i know however here goes.

How do i download to a newly purchased Garmin sat nav unit all UK & Europe road bridge heights?

Mate of mine is starting an HGV driving job tomorrow hence he needs the above info. Neither of us has a clue what to do or how to do it.

Went on to Google & some joker wanted to charge £22.00 to answer the question. Clown!

If you've got the data file with the bridge heights, I'd follow the instructions which would come with it. As a best guess, you'll probably need Garmin's POI loader to go with it.
Not sure whether Garmin have a restriction of 500 POIs, however.....

We spent 3 hours trawling through the net - Garmin, Google etc all useless. Simpy unable to work out how to download anything at all.

The Garmin POI was, as far as we coud see, for the UK only, it was useless anyway, & it would have cost £59.99 to download.

Tried all sorts of websites & couldnt find anything for European bridge height restrictions.

The unit was bought from Halfords (dont ask) & apparently the useless gimp who sold it said that it was possible to download the info from ebay for £2.00.....

That didnt work either.

If using Garmin you'll have to buy the units which have the ability to run the additional software for entering heights/widths/weights, IMVHO.

These are: The Garmin Dezl 560LT or Nuvi 465T. Around £300/350 a piece, cheaper via Amazon I think
