I'll be purchasing a new TV soon, mainly used for watching SD broadcast (although i understand within my budget i'll be able to pick up a TV that offers Free View HD), and Blu Rays.

The usual seating position is approx 3m from the TV.

Which would you chose, a slightly higher spec 46" screen or a lower spec 50"?

All comments welcome.

What is the difference in spec?

The chart above shows what you'll see on both screen sizes at your viewing distance.

Ideally I'd go for the 50 but it depends what the 46 and 50" models are and what you are loosing by getting the 50.
