Started washing my new purchase, and clunk - the nearside indicator fell back into the valance. My Chim is a pre-facelift with a metal mesh around the indicator.
It is easy enough to get at by removing the front grille, and it then appears to be a push fit back into the mesh. All was well I thought, until walking back to the car today there was a hole where the indicator should be, so the same thing has happened again.
Is there a locking ring missing or something?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but the search facility isn't working at the moment.

It's just glued in, have 'lost' both of mine so far, Araldite makes sure it doesn't happen again.

Won't that affect your ability to change the bulbs later? On mine I had to remove the whole fitting in order to get the 'screw-on' back off, IIRC.

Wired mine on with lock wire - through the mesh around the back of the fitting and back onto the mesh, have also used small cable ties before. - Andy

TBH I don't know - I though the bulb came out the back of the housing? They are bonded in at the factory after all? Right?

Checked before I glued mine in, the bulb holder unscrews from the back so can still be changed. I just used four dots of glue, so hopefully a sharp tap will knock it free if I ever need to change the whole unit.

I found it impossible to unscrew the holders on mine by hand (due to age and condition of them) so I had to remove the whole unit and use penetrating oil/brute force to get the two parts to unscrew. So I gave the parts a good clean up and used some grease to (hopefully) ensure they'll come apart again by hand.
