Why obviously? It's clearly not a specialist or massively in demand role for that sort of money. I really wouldn't worry about someone trying to steal the oppurtunity from you were you to drip feed us some hints as to the industry/position.hornetrider said:

UK Average salary is something like 25K.Any use considering one was asked to up-sticks for the job.
London average salary must be something like 30K
and the rest of the UK must be something like 20K to
make the 25K number work.
So, I'd say 24K - 28K in London is nothing special assuming
a standard 40 hour working week.
Let's not forget that a pound in London goes a lot
less far than many other places in the UK.

I've sacrifieces & moved to some s
t areas early in career at crap wages,living in crap accomodation inorder to get the right experience I needed- never stayed longer than 12 months and worked out well.If its dead end then dont.
quite honestly it is st money. In Manchester for a <30 year old its good but in London you are going to be living pretty much like you are still at university. That wage represents compromised living. BUT, if it opens the doors to opportunity and it is a starting wage that may be >50 in a couple of years then it may be worth the short term compromise.

Those are exactly my thoughts, given the job spec they are trying to do it on the cheap.t money.
