Sorry if this has been asked before.....if the red light Gatso camera box has it vent holes (x2 in back plate) open, does that mean there is a camera installed? and conversely if they are closed off do it mean box is camera-less?

Gatso cameras dont have "vent holes".
This is a myth.

The two "holes" you see are anti vandal security covers for the main locks( they dont work too well.. ).

The only way to tell if a gatso has a camera in is to go take a look at it from the front.

Upper left window; If its black, ie, theres nothing to be seen, then there's no camera inside. There may still be a flashgun and a radar tho.

If you can see a lens inside the upper left window then yes its got a camera inside and can snap you as go past it.

Come to PH, its a fount of knowledge here!

Cheers DeltaF ....but i was talking 'bout red light cameras......which have one aperture directly above the other...i.e. camera above flash or vice versa......triggered by road pressure trips
