Does anyone have any suggestions for companies to ask to move a car for me? I have tried local recovery people and the quotes are all huge - I think they aim more at the insurance recovery type work so charge the earth. Its only a small car mk3 MR2, big ends failed & MOT expired, want it taking to Rogue Motorsport from the Didcot area.

Cheapest bet will probably be to see if you can hire a vehicle with a tow bar and a trailer I would guess...

Sorry to be off topic but I think Rogue motorsport moved from Honiley/Kenilworth to Southam, although I could be talking out my arse again.

Also I may know of a fellow who could do that, he will pick up any car in Coventry and take it anywhere in Coventry for £20 so quite reasonable, not sure how much it'd be for further afield, I'll see if I can get a number for him tomorrow at work.

I'm in Oxfordshire and use a company called Prestige Vehicle Logistics. Pete is brilliant. If you call them there may be a chance that he's running back up that way (he's based in Coventry) and do a bit of a deal. Otherwise he's still cheap at £1.20 per mile (one way charge only) plus vat.

All These folk saying hire a car trailer, do be aware if you passed your test after 1997 the trailer + car will probably put you over the maximum train weight.

I would highly recommend Gaz at IVT (based in the West Midlands):

Try S1 MON on here, it's his job and also lives local(ish) to you.

His email address isn't valid and his profile says between jobs and Lancashire region so I guess he's out.
