Orite lads and lasses. Been reading here for a few weeks now and thought I'd start posting a bit. Obviously I've got to wait a few more weeks before I can start posting in The Lounge sub-section so thought I'd introduce myself here.

I've learnt that a bullet will hit the floor at the same time when fired from a gun and dropped from the same height as the gun at the same time. Also that debates repeat ( aeroplane wheels anyone? ) and that topics can quickly rack up far too many pages for me to keep up.

He seems intelligent, and quick to pick up on things. His grammar is OK and he introduced himself politely.

shout BURN THE WITCH.

Welcome.

Not according to a thread I was reading in The Lounge and according to Mythbusters. I was also very surprised to hear it.

I'm a fan of the VW Sirocco. Think it's a great car for general use. Really like Lexus' also for a general purpose car. The Audi A3 is also high on my list of good general purpose cars.

EDIT: Are you lot not a fan then? What about my other choices? Obviously if money was no problem the car would vary slightly.

I really like the look of the older ones, but then I'm a sucker for a car with windows that you can see out of.

The new one is probably very good, and well made, but it kind of leaves me a bit cold. I can't really put my finger on why.

A Lexus would make a great motorway barge, especially if on LPG like a mate had a while ago. As for the Audi A3, not my cup of tea, but I understand the attraction.

I am currently lusting after a Merc CL for under £10k, with the biggest engine I can find. (I'm also looking for about £10k as well.)

Ahh, I see what you mean. It seems there is quite a range of middle of the road cars that are well built, look good, have a good engine and reliable at the minute. The Merc CL is a nice car to be fair. I could do with finding 10k as well. Good look finding the car you want.
