Last weekend I did my first drag run, "run what you brung" (yes, thats how its spelt). Never been to one and didn't know what to expect, but turned out it was a good crack, even with all the "Barry Boys" there, there was some interesting machinery.
£25 for the day and you could have as many runs as you liked/car could take.
The track was an old disused air field and the surface was not the best for grip.
The best time I got for the 1/8 mile was 8.25 secs, is this any good??? Did 8 runs and won all of them, first few were against a friend in his 650hp corvette, who was still spinning in third. smile

what was your terminal?

I remember in my Ultima I was doing 100mph in the 1/8th mile and around 7.4 seconds, but it was lighter and more powerful with 315's on the back... im very interested to find out what my car would do now.
incidentally the std noble GT03r couldnt get below 10seconds when I did my runs (with 6 speed box) so if your hitting 100mph then you have done very well smile

The best time was 7.3 sec in a heavily modified Skyline GTR, your time of 7.4 sec, you must have had very good grip.

Looking for video of the day, came across this one, anyone here??

nope I had bad grip as it was at brunters and was launching it at low rpm... I also changed at 98mph into 3rd which cost me .4s and it would do 105mph in 2nd.

Thing is in a very light car with large tyres, even when your spinning your building speed so you cover ground very quickly.

Should point out that my noble is now a lot quicker than my ultima was, even up to 60mph.... Yet to set figures yet tho so all talk until then :-)

Your times are very good indeed and better than I would have guessed at :-)
