Recommended Fire Extinguisher ??

As title really, previous owner had fire extinguisher in car but took it out. Just wondered what you guys have 'to hand' in the car, size, make, cost, supplier etc... (was looking in halfrauds but not a lot of choice)

I picked up a decent dry powder one in B&Q - comes with mounting bracket, but I just leave mine in the helmet holder for now.

Dry powder is the most versatile of the range out there, can be used on electrical, liquid and solid fires.

Ive got a poweder 1.5L extinguisher infront of the passenger seat held in with quick release duck tape not prity but will do the trick if needed and it is easy to get too.
Also get a Halfwhits one in the Taimar in the same location, easy to get too and dont intrude at all, just the passenger seat cant be moved forward...hoo well

Also got a smaller one on the shelf behind, I'm expecting big trouble one day .

I have a small one fixed horizontally just under the helmet holder.. better than nothing, though it might be a little hard to reach compared to under your seat and its probably too small to put anything other than the smallest of cabin fires tbh.. I think its 0.5kg dry powder..

Bolted to the floor "in front" of the passenger seat!

I,ve got a Guardian 1kg powder extinguisher from Halfords which is kept loose in the boot. Yes, I know I should fix it inside the cabin but I wouldn't leave it loose in there.

It's not unheard of for TVRs to catch fire so they are an essential safety precaution but also carrying one could allow you be someone else's hero. Many years ago someone stopped for my car fire. Unfortunately, he only had a small size extinguisher which couldn't deal with the under-bonnet fuel fire and I had to stand back and watch my sporty Capri burn at the roadside. Last year I was able to return the Karma and stop for a full family car packed with kids and all the holiday gear. They didn't have to watch their car and belongings burn and only needed a recovery truck. I think they were a little surprised to have a TVR Cerbera come to the rescue.
