What's the big deal with Yuriy Shishkov Strats?

I've been offered the chance to buy a Fender Master Built Yuriy Shishkov heavy relic "1962" Strat for £1,500 (legitimate sale from original buyer with store receipt). I believe this is what is called a "price too good to be true". Personally I've never quite 'got' the Fender Custom Shop/Master Build ready-made-beaten-up guitar thing. But in this case I'll probably pull the trigger. Anyone got any specific knowledge on these models?

He's one of the principal custom strat builders. If it's kosher it should be worth about twice that much. Get the serial number and check it with fender.

It's definitely kosher. I've seen the original sales receipt. Comes with vintage case and all the Fender Custom Shop authentication documents

I've also had a play with it.

Funnily enough I prefer the 1983 JV MIJ Squier Strat I bought for £360!

The guy needs money quick so I'll grab the bargain!

Yuriy's a top builder for sure so I'll bet it'll be a great guitar!

He built a Goldleaf EC Strat for me about six years ago.
