OK, so this is probably going to be one of the loneliest parts of the t'interweb, but seeing as we don't have an official thread (and every other club seems to have one), I thought I'd start it.

Nothing interesting to report other than we won at Workington on the first day of the season with a last gasp goal and should be challenging for promotion by the end of the season.

Should be at the Harrogate game on 27th if anyone fancies a pint.

Grimsby fan here - seems we've got half of your old team and your management this year.

I'm not overly impressed by them but because the shouty one shouts a lot our fans think he has "passion" and love them.

To be fair to them they did a really good job at our place and I was sorry to see them go, and especially the manner of it. I think if they had stayed put we would have gone up last season. Still, money talks and we haven't got any!

Seems their buzz words are "passion" and "commitment" ... well, that only gets you so far. I don't think they've assembled enough quality in the squad.

Probably completely premature but I think this is another bad management decision - they'll be out of a job before the end of the season ... it's the grimsby way.

Hopefully you'll go up this season could do with another local derby I haven't been to Boston for years.

Sorry, how very rude of me!

Think it was Grimsby where the fat lying cheating fk was not just sent off, but made to sit on the team bus and listen to the radio. Quality!

It was, and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!

So H/T in our game. The short manager has been short and the shouty one has done a lot of shouting. The net result is that we're 2-0 down.

2-0 down to Braintree. *sigh*

Oh dear Darren, that didn't go well. Do you think they'll make Christmas?

I sincerely hope not. Yet another hopeless knee jerk managerial appointment made by our chairman.

Last years manager was Neil Woods, he loved the club, he'd built up a decent enough team which, with some consistency and some changes would have really had a chance to push on in this league this season. He was also changing a lot of other things at the club.

But, becuase he didn't shout and scream he was accused by some of our more idiotic but more vocal fans of lacking passion and not being "mean" enough. Because of this and a couple of poor results and a lot of draws which saw us send most of the season just out of the play off spots the Chairman did what he always does and listened to the gobby fans and got rid.

Then we got these 2 in. They don't care. They think they're big time because they have had relative success elsewhere but they clearly can not make the step up to managing a team like Grimsby. Without sounding arrogant we are a big club fo this legue, gates and away support show that.

Barry and Paul Chuckle just are not capable and neither are the players they have brought in.

What will happen now is we will limp on until just before the playoffs become a mathematical impossibility and we'll sack them and employ someone else (no doubt equally as useless) who will then spend all the pre-season getting rid of the players we have and signing new ones. It's the Grimsby way and the reason we've gone from Championship to Conference in a decade.
