I do not have parking sensors on my car, but need to judge exactly where I stop pretty accurately.

A family friend used to have a tennis ball on a piece of string that was suspended from the ceiling which touched his front windscreen as he drove in; this worked very well, but wouldn't suit my space as I dont want any fixings into the ceiling.

Anyone got a cunning method?

Hang the wife from the ceiling.
But be careful the high heels do not scratch the paintwork.

Glue a small bit of wood on the floor in front of where the front wheels should stop.

That way roll upto to wood and the car will always stop in the right place.

my dad has a blank of wood bolted to the floor so when he reverses in he knows when it is in, he has parking sensors as well but they go mad in the confines of a garage

Me i just drive forward until my headlights become two clearly different spots on the wall - that is when i know i am in

make a wooden chock that either goes between the end wall and your tyre or is fixed to the floor.

Fit a giant clown's nose to the front of the car. Stop when you hear 'honk honk'.

Vertical springy piece of wood which 'twangs' when the front wheel touches it, then I can close the door with 5mm to spare.

I've also (proudly) 'footprinted' the area the car goes in, so that I can clutter up the floor but only in areas which won't stop me putting the car in.

How do you get out of it if said clutter is tight against your door?

A relative of mine has an L shaped piece of sheet steel about 6 inches long rising to about 4 inches off the ground. When he reverses his TVR Cerbera in, the back wheels hit the steel and he knows he's in. Not only that, the 4 inches of steel rising from the ground, also act as a door stop for the door exiting the garage into the house so it doesn't smash into the lover Cerb biggrin. Clever I thought.

a tennis ball hanging from some string that touches the windscreen at precisely the right point. only problem is if you use the windscreen wipers, then the ball gets knocked around a bit

Reverse until the car is almost touching the wall, then stop.

A <1mph impact probably won't even scratch the bumper, by the way.

Small nuclear warhead attached to the garage wall. If you level your village / town / city you went too far.
