Rear wiper? Yes or No...
Discussion
Apologies in advance for this as I am sure this must have been done to death on this board before but I can't find anything using the search.
My question is, is a rear wiper a "must have" or a "don't bother" thing on a 997 (edited - applies to all later 911's
).
Supplementary question is does anyone know whether they can be fitted retrospectively and if so, for how much?
Thanks in advance.

Can't answer for a 997 but assume same principle as 996 where I wouldn't say it's a must have but is very useful, especially to clear the rear screen when the car's been parked up in p***ing down rain!My question is, is a rear wiper a "must have" or a "don't bother" thing on a 997?

Whilst your not going to pay any extra for a car fitted with a rear wiper, I would imagine fitting one retro is not going to be cheap (if it is possible).

I asked the same question a few weeks back;

Ended up buying a C4S without.....seems to be fine in the rain

For 'purity' - no rear wiper and definitely no sunroof. The 911 Coupe roofline, down through the rear screen is a design classic.
However, the rear wiper is useful, as water does sit on the rear screen and a wipe (when wet - no washer) will clear and clean it. Doubt if it is easy to retro-fit.
