Louis Vuitton Enjoy

Pininfarina deck out the interior of their limited edition Lotus based roadster

Pininfarina continue to pontificate on productions of the Elise based 'Enjoy' roadster. Current thinking is that just 75 production cars will be made to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary.

They showed the car at the British Louis Vuitton Classic (a concourse event) last weekend to assess interest before pressing ahead with production. The link up with Louis Vuitton has resulted in a new interior for the roadster.

Pinifarina is now in a position to become a manufacturer as well as a styling house thanks to its acquisition of the engineering, testing and prototyping divisions of Matra Automobile. The possible production is planned in Matra’s prototyping workshop and final delivery will take place at CERAM, another company of the Pininfarina Group.

The cars style matches the ad.

Didn't Renault make a frontwindowless speedster? What happened to that thingy then? It's french like LV . . .

Nice inside, even though it's a bit 70's concept car. But the outside?? hardly Pininfarinas best work, and nothing like a Lotus!

Why doesn't Giugiaro get on the case again?

Wasn't that the Renault Spyder? Which had a windscreen, but in the concept stage no wiper - the idea was that air would be channeled (or do I mean chanel'd?) over the screen to keep it dry.

The first cars and most of the european cars had no windscreen, the screen was added for the UK market IIRC. It was alway a limited edition run and finished some years ago.

For what it's worth I think the LV thingy looks nice, rather nicer than an Elise if you ask me.

I think it was really sunk by appalling timing. It was released about 3 months in advance of the elise (which was a shock launch for obvious reasons). Renault just didn't stand a chance as it was slower and more expensive. I've actually been in one (the owener of the renault garage in St Albans had one)....and the gullwing doors are COOL! That aside, it was fun, but didn't exactly blow your socks off in any way - which is probably why it dide so quickly.....

The exterior looks like something honda (should) have knocked out.

The interior is foul.

Just my two cents worth
