I think they're commonly added to MX5s.

A supercharger is useless without an uprated fuel pump and proper mapping as it will fall outside the programmed ECU values.

I think you'll struggle as the H22a ATR engine runs counter clockwise. So your supercharger will sucking not pushing into the engine.

A good place to start. There's much more to it than engine+charger, and few people seem to be able to achieve what they want without spending around £2k.

Good luck.

Surely it'd be too small for a 2.2 litre engine?

It's possible, but probably a lot of work for little overall gains. Not sure exactly which Eaton the MINI CS uses, but it probably wouldn't fair so well on a larger displacement engine.

Also Eaton Roots style blowers are quite good in basic trim, but when pushed turn into air heaters rather than compressors. They also work well at lower rpm ranges.

I'd have thought a centrifugal or twin rotor blower would be a better bet.

Isn't the Eaton M45 also attached to SLK230Ks (like mine) and 4 litre Jaguars?

The M45's are often fitted to MX-5's. They're getting increasingly hard to get hold of though.

A lot of MINI's are looking for replacements and they're £1200 new from BMW! There's a few new ones now and then on eBay, as BMW stripped them off delivery mileage cars when they did Works conversions. Back in the day, they were chucking them in skips!

Why? JCW's ran the same blowers.

Not the Jag, no. That's an M112.

It is fitted to your SLK right enough. 214bhp? With the charger. Less than the Accord makes without one. That's not to say it won't result in an increase, obviously, but i'd be using something a bit bigger if it was me. Also the problem of the H22 spinning the wrong way, if you want to supercharge it, http://www.jacksonracing.com
Pretty sure the M45 (MINI) is rated as "upto 2 litres"
The Merc has an M60 or 90 (I forget which) but this would be better suited.
Jaguar does indeed run an M112.

JCW's have an 11% smaller pulley. Evidently either BMW didn't trust their mechanics to swap just the pulley, or they didn't mind charging the customer for a new blower.

Also, pre-2004 cars had a 3rd generation blower, changing to 5th generation afterwards. The JCW's always had the 5th gen teflon coated one.

I'd suggest reading "Supercharged" by Corky Bell before you try anything.

Early SLKs had M62, later ones M45, I believe.

I doubt if anyone is going to be able to answer your question as it's unlikely that someone will have done that modification.

The engine is a H22, so Google " supercharge h22 honda".
