So who has a turtle beach headest?
Are they any good for black ops?
I might get a set, can anyone recommend a decent set for a PS3?
Thanks peopel
Two / three of my friends use these (albeit on xbox) and they recommend them. Personally, I think a 5.1 surround sound actually works better, especially in game modes such as S&D; where you need to hear what direction footsteps are coming from. But then again, BO isn't like MW2 - there isn't as much tactical play. Are they any good for black ops?

Cheers fella,
Just in time for your new ps3!However since i cleaned the black ops cd, it has not froze once, but like I said last night the cd has a perfect circle scratch so think i should get rid of the PS3 and get the new one whilst I can
Hi daz,
As Dev says above I have the px21 and they are really good. I do see where Riknos is coming from with proper surround sound, but the headset allows you to have a decent game volume without the neighbours complaining
I paid £70 approx about a year ago so £40 is a cracking price!

Aye, to anyone with a set of these (or similar). Is it actually worth the money? I mean the surround sound 5.1 does do me with no problems so it worth splashing out on the cash just for something to make you look like a dork?

I have the Tritton Ax pro thingies (not the Black ops branded crap) which are 5.1 surround sound & I paid £150 for, i have also had the PX21's........Aye, to anyone with a set of these (or similar). The PX21's are great value and pretty good too BUT they are rather flimsy and mine broke easily (easily bodged with electricians tape though). They are very comfy and have a surround like effect which works quite well.
The Tritton http://www.trittonusa.com/index.php/products/gamin... (these) are better made and feel solid. They are heavy compared to the PX21's but still v comfy for long periods. The 5.1 IS better than the PX21's especially for watching films etc as you would expect.
So in summary, if you want the 'best' buy the Tritton's but if you want a REALLY GOOD headset at a good price buy the PX21's! If i had the choice i would have my money back and go re-buy the PX21's as they are not worth £100 more unless you find them going cheap anywhere.

i have the same ones as dev, got mine off ebay but i have a problem, its either there wired up wrong and the left comes out the right and visa versa, or its my ears are wrong way wrong.........To be honest I think its my ears, Other than that there great, good with volume for game and chat.
Rob, I ended up cancelling the headset yesterday after being fkd around with by The Hut. They were the Tritton AX 720 Black Ops Edition which you could get for £63 Link. Now you can get the Tritton AX Pro's for £86 Link.
So after watching a few reviews it seems the only one's that look like I'd have no problems with at all is the Astro A40 BUT to get the best out of them with the extra equipment needed the cost would be over £255 which is a ludacris amount of money for a headset.
THEN there is the option of the Official Sony 7.1 Headset due for release soon which is RRP'd around $100.

Yeh was looking at the PX21's but apparantly they have a hisssss which would P me off after a while & think I would prefer a wireless set now too. Oh jeez I can't decide
Do not, and i repeat DO NOT buy / nick wireless ones! You will loose sound quality, spend a fortune on batteries and there IS a sound delay compared wired.
IIRC there is a very feint hiss but ONLY when there is no sound or your PS3 is not turned on
