Boness Hillclimb 10/11 September
Discussion
As some of you may know the Boness Hillclimb is on on the 10/11th of September. It is held at Kinneil House in Boness. There are all sorts of cars tackling the hill from old 1930s Bentleys to Opel Mantas. You are also allowed to walk around the paddock and see the cars when the are not racing. The paddock also reeks of petrol and oil fumes. It is a good day out and there is even a fly past from something from the Battle of Britian memorial flight. Last year was the Vulcan and the year before was the Lancaster.

First pic sums up last years event best for me. Lots of frikkin' hay bales blocking your view of the action.
2009 was fantastic - 2010 was very much spoiled for me with the placement of the hay bales. Lots of complaints (not just from spectators) were made so hopefully they will have been noted.
I'm not planning to go this year but if it appears things are better I'll be back in 2012.
ETA - a load of the photos posted last year were mine - when I was lucky enough to be stood at the front at the one point which afforded a decent photo opportunity. Previous year I took about 5 times as many pics including great ones at the paddock end of the track. Last year at the paddock end all you saw was helmets and roofs passing.

IIRC did a car not have a bit of an off the first year? Hence the increased number/size and different placement of bales?!
Not as big as the off last year when the cracking Europa got wrecked (by hitting a haybale) on the new finish line.2nd year - 2009 - a TVR had an off as it crossed the (then) finish line and stopped near the back of a burger van.
No reason for that to lead to the placement of the bales down at the paddock end which was my biggest beef. In effect the only place to see "action" was reduced to the raised are overlooking the corner at the cottages.
