I've tried hypnotherapy twice and it worked the first time for eight months, the second about two days. Tried Alan Carr and it worked for a week only.

Can anybody recommend a hypnotherapist inside the M25, preferably north or west? I didn't find Google to be a great help. Cold turkey didn't work for me because I'm under five a day but I binge smoke when I'm drinking and have found I don't have a lot of willpower when I've had a drink.

I once phoned a hypnotherapist to enquire about stopping smoking. He told me I needed anger management as this was reason I smoked. I told him to fk off!

Didn't actually but was thinking it. What a wker!

You could try contacting PHer Tyre Tread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem... , He's not in London but only a hop up the M1.

To quit smoking you need will power and the desire to do it.

If you have this, you don't need patches, tablets, hypnotherapy etc.

This.

All this other nonsense is a waste of time IMO.

23 days ago I was on 20 a day for 10 years.

Hypno worked for me, one session and haven't had a smoke since, must be well over 7 years now. A little voice in the back of my head always says if I have one then it's game over (not sure if this is the hypno). The hypo felt like it didn't work but something must have clicked deep down.

I also do a lot of mountain biking and stopping smoking certainly noticeably improved my performance, feel fitter now at 40 than I was at 25 another reason to keep at it, visited some awesome places to mtb in the world because of it, certainly couldn't have done if I still smoked

There was a big degree of willpower and I was a horrible person for 2 weeks after, a very understanding partner, thank you darling smile

To break the habitual side I got herbal smokes from Holland and Barrett, they were horrible but just got me away from the empty feeling in my fingers this lasted for a 2-3 months I think. Never looked back smile
