funny noise....exhaust gasket leaking sound...but not

I assumed my exhaust gaskets were shot but after sticking my head dangerously close to the big cat the noise isnt coming from the manifolds...sounds more front and low down, crank pulley area...but the noise does sound like an exhaust leak kinda sound, not mechanical as such...any ideas?

Is it blowing around the cat to manifold clamps area? try getting 2ft hose pipe holding one end to your ear then have a poke around the joints inc the manifold to head joints if you start earring a clack clack sound you have found the leak sometimes backed up by a bit of black carbon staining too

Cant hear an obvious bow in the cat/manifolds area, is there another exhaust joint somewhere under the engine?

Just doesn't sound mechanical at all....weird

Yes cat Y piece to exhaust system on the nearside just near the crankshaft pulley/lower engine front
