Latest Bat-Toys In Action - Video

"Holy cat on a motorbike Batman!" The Dark Knight Rises...

Easy tigers!
Easy tigers!
Scenes from the next Batman film The Dark Knight Rises are being filmed in downtown Pittsburgh as we speak. Judging by these amateur YouTube vids, it looks as though it might be some of the good bits.

Gasp in awe as the truck-mounted Batwing careers through the city streets, check out the familiar Tumblers, and admire a cat-suited Anne Hathaway 'stunt double' getting her leg over the new er, Catwoman-bike.

Does that thing go around corners? Do we care..?

That's quite a rear end.

And the bike looks OK too.

Pittsburgh is pretty much the best place they could film Batman. A very gotham-eque city. thumbup

How can you be sure I don't have first-hand experience? biggrin

Nah, watch the video and check the close-ups. It's not Hathaway (to my eye).

Whoa! That is one terrific turd cutter. As for the bike, bet it's pretty tough to do a burnout with a rear tire that wide!

I was always under the impression that DC's New York was Metropolis and Gotham City was Chicago.

New York is Metropolis, home of Superman, Batman lives in Gotham City which is based around Chicago. The Marvel characters tend to reside in the proper city I.e. Spiderman is in New York.

Umm... isn't that actually Batman: Year One? If so, that would be Eliza Dushku.

Did anyone see actually see a bike?

AND ANOTHER THING!

Mrs Don Logan made these observations -

Where are her cat ears and why isn`t she shiny!

(valid points I thought)

Gotham City is a nickname used for New York in real life.

Originally Batman was going to be based in Manhattan, but the writer didn't want any city to identify with it;

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/Gotham_City

"Before Detective Comics #48, Batman's adventures were said to happen in New York City. Gotham is known to be architecturally modeled after New York City, but with exaggerated elements of the styles and derives its name from a sobriquet for that real world city, first popularized by the author Washington Irving in his satirical work Salmagundi (1807). Prior to that the term "Gotham" had been used to refer to places with foolish inhabitants since as early as the mid-15th century. The name "Gotham City" is generally associated with Batman and DC Comics, although it also appears in the first Mr. Scarlet story by France Herron and Jack Kirby from Wow Comics #1. Kirby historian Greg Theakston notes that this was published December 13, 1940, shortly before Detective Comics #48 was published."

All of this is, of course, irrelevant. What is important is that we get more pictures of Anne Hathaway's (or double's) rear in leather! smile
