Can't believe nobody has started a thread on the game last night.

That tackle on Fabregas was way over the top!

What was Mourinho on to pull a stunt like that? and what was that grin all about afterwards?

Shame that a game as good as that was marred by all that trouble!

They bore me now in all honesty. Too many fouls, too many games going on besides football. Loved the part when the entire staff room of Barcelona unloaded on to the pitch after that tackle. rofl

I love to watch Barca and I love to watch Real, but I don't like to watch them play each other. Too little football playing actually takes place. I did watch both legs of the Spanish Super Copa, but it just served to remind me. To be fair though, the goals are always of sublime quality, but there's too little happening in between the snapshots of brilliance.

Marcelo's tackle was pretty awful and he was rightly red carded. Mourinho's petulant behaviour was something I could hardly believe. How old are you FFS, you're the manager get it together. Brilliant manager but a right tt when it doesn't go his way.

Mourinho's behaviour was shocking, he needs a big punishment for that to step him down a peg or two.
Would hate him to be manager of my club.

Thing is, more often than not, it isn't going his way against Barca. Whether that's down to Pep, the football philosophy, the players or perhaps Maureen not being quite as good as he obviously believes he is, is an entirely different question. While he did ok with Inter, with an even more expensively assembled Real team his record is something like won 1, drawn 3, lost 3. I can't remember his record with Chelsea being all that stellar either (but happy to be corrected).

Can't say I'm all that disappointed as I've never been a fan of him or his "st on a stick" football and as always, I'd love to see someone like him involved in rugby (of either persuasion) and try & pull similar stunts. It would quite possibly end up with Jose eating soup via a straw for a few months.

He does love himself does Maureen. I got the feeling that when 2-1 up, Barca were content to just go through the motions and play out the match - but when Real equalised (not toally undeserved) they thought fk this, we have to score another now, yawn yawn and down they went where Messi just conjured something up out of virtually nothing - his speed of foot gives him so much time and of course he always finds the space in the box. Sublime ...

I'm no fan of Maureen (unless he up against old whiskey nose) and although I think by clever hassling of the Barca players higher up the pitch and having RM work a lot harder WITHOUT the ball he has gone some way to help close the gap between RM and Barca, when the latter turn it on, there is no finder sight and for all the Galacticos' brilliance, they were outdone again by the little genius.

I love to see a bit of rivalry. It wouldn't be El Classico without the drama. Also some of the football played in that game was bloody fantastic.

Mourinho is an odeous individual....some of the things he's done over the years have been the lowest of the low. The finger in the eye was pretty bad.

The worse one for me was when he accused the ambulance service of being negligent after Cech was injured at Reading...resulting in the medics who were probably getting paid £30k a year getting death threats from the Chelsea supporters.

Chelsea later retracted their complaint after it was revealed Mourinho had "got his facts wrong"
