They are getting pretty cheap now, in fact I have seen one locally that is just £3.5k and it looks really mint.

Here's the cheapest one I could find on the bay which is a few hundred more.

Should I expect a problem with a £3.5k example?

They are hitting the price bracket now when they will be picked up cheaply, abused and sold on. I have noticed the same sort of things with early X5's too frown

Could be both....like every other car, at 100k some wearable parts may be getting tired - suspension in particular, however generally Porsche do have very good build quality.

In this advert in particular, I'm not sure what they mean by "as with most 98 boxsters the orange light shows" - what orange light, I dearly hope they don't mean the check engine light!! That wouldn't be common!

At 3.5k I'd say it's worth a good look.

When cars like this come along for this sort of money they do become tempting. But, porsche parts do cost and you have to ask yourself how much you'd resent four figure bills on a car that you bought for this sort of money. It could be a total bargain or a total money pit, bit of a gamble really.
