Evening All.

The Whiff and I are going to embark on an 8 day tour of the UK tomorrow, starting from Wiltshire and going to:
  • Betws-y-coed (how could we not?! wink);
  • Ullswater (possibly incorporating Hardnott Pass);
  • Edinburgh;
  • Skipton;
  • Buxton;
  • Stratford-upon-Avon (via Donnington Motor Museum! smile).
No motorways, just the satnav and some postcode end points...should be an adventure!

I'll try to keep a short log here (mobile internet permitting) of the roads that we find and what we think of them. Keep an eye out for a small, silver Toyota MR2 Roadster full to the brim with camping equipment and with a PH sticker on the back and give us a wave if you spot us!

Right, I'll be off now...7 am start tomorrow!

wavey

Cheers Jason! First stop...ass is numb as can be! hehe My turn to drive next. Last minute addition:

So far, A429 heavily trafficked, A417 fun in places but too much farm machinery!

Important information: Bushton racetrack now re-opened! Hope the weather is ok and that the tent compacts back down again!

Hmm...interesting afternoon.

Fun bit: the tent is larger than the car.

The views have been spectacular.

The Whiff has lost her phone...we're hoping it's under the tent it the car!

And we have our first casualty.

Broken power steering pump...it won't do any damage and we'll look like popeye!

WiFi over and out for the night. wavey

PS: low flying fighter planes and chinooks are cool yes.

hehe No, sorry. Reception is dire and car charger is rubbish! Been up to Edinburgh, now in Buxton in the Peak District. A7 is fantastic road! More in a couple of days, I promise! WiFi over and out...

Edited to remove odd double post...

Anyhews, we have now reached our final stop of a very relaxing spa in Stratford! woohoo

My phone has completely died and the in-car charger was complete tosh, only giving ~10% per hour of charge. irked

I'll post a detailed summary before the weekend's out, but in the meantime:
  • One side of the evo triangle is better than the others by a fairly long way IMHO;
  • The A7 to and from Edinburgh is excellent!
Right: to the bar! beer

Go and drive the A7!!!
