I am not a serious biker having had the same Claude Butler Diatto since 1996! It is on the same tyres and inner tubes since I bought the bike new, I don't ride frequently these days only to the gym on the road and occosionally with the little one around the local park. I needed to replace the 26x1.95 MTB tyres and chose these Schwalbe city jet tyres. Are they any good and what do i need to know?

I have a set and found them fine, never had a puncture, they roll quite well in the dry and are fine in the wet, obviously would not use them if I were looking to tear up the tarmac but imho they are fine as fit and forget road tyres.

Should these be run at a higher tyre pressure than MTB tyres?

Yes, about 80psi.

I've got these on my go to work iron. Actually a really free running tyre with far better wet performance than I expected. They are a pretty hard rubber, takes ages to wear out! Do need the 80psi in them. Glad I've got schrader valves and a compressor in the garage.

I've got 2 off ebay for around £12 I have them on my old Trek 820, they are perfectly adequate even in the monsoon conditions we have had here recently in the N East..
