M.o.t question

I want to sell my saxo soon but its m.o.t is due in febuary can i m.o.t it around october? And would it just be due the following october or would it need to be done in febuary?

You can present your car for MOT at any time you like. You will get 12 months from the point of MOT (unless it is within a month of the expiry of the current ticket).

Why present it for MOT? What's left seems reasonable enough to me and will save £35-£50? I would offer to MOT it at new owners expense if they need it doing
