Extremely Hot Boot!

Hello Everybody,

I am new to the forum, I have just bought a 2006 Elise Sports Racer. 5 years ago I used to own a 2003 Elise S with the K series engine. Since I picked the car up on Tuesday evening, I have noticed the floor of the boot gets extremely hot, so hot in fact that it melted a plastic tesco bag.
I never had this issue with my last Elise, and I am a little concerned that all may not be well. The car is not not running hot, around 86degrees max.
Does anybody have any idea what the issue could be, or is it normal. The car is fitted with the original standard exhaust.

I can nearly boil things in my boot. Then again, with the upgrades I have, it probably runs a bit hotter than your average Elise, but probably not by much.

worth checking that the heat shielding is still intact, yes they get warm, but would not expect it to get that hot....

I've got both a Series 2 111s and 111r at moment and I notice the Toyota engine generates a load more heat both into the boot and through the bulkhead to heat the cabin.
It hasnt ever been hot enough to melt bags though.

I am thinking of going for the Christopher Neil performance pack, (exhaust, air box & ECU re-map), so i may ask them to take a quick look whilst it is up on the ramps.
