Thoughts on leaky floor and warranty..
Discussion
Hi all
I have a very leaky floor. All the normal places i.e. Behind the seats, at the side of the seats, footwells, and also in the fusebox area.there are visible holes in some places
I have a years warranty from the company i bought the car from, which i understood included everything apart from consumables. They say it covers anything that would stop you from using the car.
It may be worth while pointing out that this garage has never sold a Noble before this one, however they are TVR specialists
Now the corroded/leaky floor is not stopping me from using the car at the moment, however if left as is, it will be a large problem!. Ive also had issues of wipers/lights not working which i believe is down to moisture in the fusebox area.
I have been asked to send an email to them pointing out why the floor should be replaced under warranty, and just wondered if anyone here can help out with what to say!? Or if anyone thinks im barking up the wrong tree then let me know!
im sure they aren't going to be happy when i ask for Jetstream to do the work!
Cheers
Julian

Sounds like the whole floor needs replaced. I'm no expert in warranty claims but my thoughts would be...
I would say that it is affecting the electrics in the passenger footwell, your luggage is getting wet behind the seats and the dampness causes the windows to mist up, taking a long time to clear on cold mornings. Together these all make the car unsafe (electrically) and uncomfortable (dampness) to use on a daily basis.

Personally I would do the job yourself. If you go through warranty then I suspect they will first try and refuse (TADTS and it would have been like that when you bought it etc) and even if they do accept they could just put a couple of rivets in and stick loads of sealant under the car - more of a short term fix but would get you back on the road until it fails again.
This is a common and known issue with these cars and to do the job properly you need to remove the floor completely and clean the chassis before resealing - you also need to dry or replace the carpet as it will start to rot/smell. If you are planning on keeping the car then it is definitely a job that needs to be done and not only will it stop the water getting in but will add to the value/pleasure of owning
