The never ending search for that perfect guitar tone

After much searching I recently bought an orignal Ibanez TS-808 tube screamer - pictured. The serial number and (R) trademark would suggest it's an early model, possibly 1979.

Highly sought after they are considered to be the holy grail of overdrive pedals. The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan used one.

Any other fans?

I've only got a TS-9, but running my '73 SG into a clean boost pedal, then through the TS9, and then onto a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is pretty special.

im running a 76 les paul into a hot rod at the moment.

I have a Behringer Ultra Metal pedal for sale, £20 posted if you're interested. I never use it. I get all I need from an old Zoom 505 II. It's not much but there's a lot you can do with it. If you want infinate sounds, I'd recommend getting a Line6 guitar.

Nice. I've got the TS808 and MXR Carbon Copy going through a Mesa Boogie Express 5:50. Have a few guitars, my 59 Les Paul VOS being the favourite.

Personally I like to keep it as simple as possible. Guitar, valve amp and a couple of stomp boxes. I'm not a fan of digital fx. More of an analog man.

marshall, les paul sorted. tube screamer is very cool but optional I use a marshall blues braker peadal sometimes just to hike the signal a little, Ive got a 76 lp too.

I've just sold a couple of mad fuzz devices (fuzz factory and Torns Peaker) but I've retained my dunlop fuzz face - just love it. Currently playing through a crappy roland cube and a custom shop Fender Jaguar it just sounds really gritty...
