Looks interesting so far.

Two road trips - one modern, one old fashioned.

Should be a good one. Did she just say they are building fifteen miles of new roads a day? Thought I must have misheard.

They might be but the contractors pay bribes to everybody involved. So the roads fall apart fairly quickly

Very enjoyable. I'd love to see India, and this is a good way to see whats it like away from the tourist type places.

I wonder what the logistics would be like in importing one of those nice shiny new Ambassadors to the UK? scratchchin

You do see the odd one about. When I first started driving I was given my Dads old Fiat 1100D Estate. The saloon versions were the standard taxis in India along with the Ambis but I didn't see a single one on these 2 programmes. It was a great car, only about 60bhp but that winter(1981?) was awful and it was a real hoot on roundabouts, fantastically loose at the rear biggrin

I very nearly turned the TV off when they started on that ste - thankfully, it didn't go on for too long.
