A full time job in the city means I'm swapping my car for an oyster card as I don't need it anymore. Now this is a first for me selling a car privately although I am expecting some wallys asking crazy questions.

I seem to be in conversation with an nice Indian chap who claims to be 'very interesting' with my car. He has asked a few odd questions - Maybe they are normal, quite fair questions but let me know. ; )

So far I've had;

What is your low price?

What does this even mean? You offer a price you lazy sod!

When was the turbo last changed?

Its an 8 year old diesel rep mobile, the turbo ain't broke so why should I replace it? I got service history and as it happens I did replace the common rail but only after that lost pressure. Am I the one being a wrong'un here? hehe

Whats my address?

Now I've advised him the area and let him know I will confirm the actual address with him when he says what day/time he'll be visiting. I don't want some looney turning up without prior knowledge at anytime of day, is this fair?

So those Ph'ers who sell cars regularly, is this a normal kind of conversation one should expect when dealing with private buyers, Or should I give this one a wide birth?

Personally I wouldn't insert him into my womb even if I had one.

If they ask you for your lowest price, ask them what their budget it. Puts the ball back in your court.

If their budget is less than your lowest price, you can simply tell them that. They'll either hang up, or reconsider their 'budget', which may miraculously increase.

Well if you'd have quoted the whole thing you'd see that he is swapping his car for an oyster card, so it's by no means impossible.....
