Decided to remove link and content as it really isn't fair. Mods can delete if they see this.

I think that this could be a good thread if people were to keep posting up Ads they have found which set their alrms going, and not just people listing what could make their alrms go off...I think that makes sense.

Wing mirrors could be down to vandalism? Quick sale because he needs the driveway clear or requires cash for other things? Could be sitting on the drive because, in the same way the car I'm selling is, he has another car therefore no need to drive it?

Warning lights could be a problem though, unless they come on with the ignition and go out when the engine starts?

That's what I was intending smile

They do come on with the ignition but along with every other light on the dash too. That photo was taken with the engine running I think, you can see the rev counter sitting at 800. Actually it is possible to catch them just before they go out just after you turn the key, massively unlikely he'd turn the engine on and get a picture in in that time though.

If I'm not interested in buying the car, and even if I was, I don't think I would post it up on the forum speculating what might 'possibly' be wrong with it. Far too many people on this forum with too much time on their hands.

Well you've certainly proved your own point there.

Clever you. Why have you even bothered to post? Seeing as you have so little time on your hands?

I've tried to contribute to the site, but you've come in here to belittle somebody for doing so. My first post says I'm not sure if it's a thread that will go anywhere. If you don't like it don't post.

I'm not a fan of people slating cars they haven't seen, not cricket IMO.

You dont know what the sellers situation is, and by "contributing" to the site like this, you're certainly not helping.

If you think belittling a man's car is contributing to the site then I suggest that you are deluded, and you'd be better off on BarryBoys.

Ignoring your childish nonsense, let me explain why I have bothered to post...

The fella is trying to sell his car, not an easy task in the current climate. Along you come, with absolutely no interest in buying it, and post it on the forum listing what might, just might, possibly be wrong with it. And absolutely no proof to back any of what you're saying up. Can you not see anything wrong with that? I'd understand 'slightly' if you were interested in buying it, but you're not.

Now, the car's retail value ranges from £1400 to £2000 maximum. So explain to me, in all your wisdom, how £1500 is too cheap?

Sorry you're right, that's actually a fair point when put like that. I wasn't sure about making the thread, should have thought some more. Link removed and I will prune out the rest in just a second.

R.e the price, some do go for more than £2000. I've never seen one go for £1400, and other cars are selling for a lot more.

ETA: With your first reply I really thought you were just calling me sad for taking the time to make the thread. Though you probably do think that to be fair.

In a slightly related manner - it always pays to keep your eyes peeled when doing multiple listing checking.
Point in case....compare the prices!

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/2002...

It looks like the PH ad is priced for what it thinks the captive audience will let them get away with asking, so a call to the landline number will be made, to see if the name offered in the second link exists there.
