Anyone know of, or own, a Torgoen watch? I want a cheapish black watch on a rubber strap, for holidays, beach etc and came across this:
http://www.torgoen.com/model.php?pid=193
Has the added benefit (for me) of the phantom look, which I like About £130 + p&p from the States, much more expensive here in the UK tho, over £200.

Nice looking bit of kit - I just looked on a few of the authorised websites and almost pulled the trigger....
£205.00 delivered from the UK next day - not too bad at all. I'll let you know if I get one. I like the Bell and Ross phantom types but they're too huge and pricey - this could be a good alternative as a daily. Cheers.

An update on this for you. I placed the order early on Monday morning, whilst our colonial cousins were still asleep, with eBay seller world*of*watches (couple of thousand feedback, mostly good).
Bear in mind that I said Monday morning.....at lunchtime today the watch was delivered to my house! Sarasota, Florida, via Memphis, then Stansted, then Sittingbourne depot, then to me. Amazingly swift delivery, for the princely sum of $10! I doubt I'd have got it that quickly if I'd ordered in the UK, and it would have probably cost more! Here's the tracking detail:

Anyway, on to the important stuff. Apologies that the photos aren't top-notch quality.
Came in a nice faux-leather case:

And this is what was inside:

The obligatory wrist shot!

And for size comparison, here it is against one of the standard PH reference points

(Yes, I know the time on the Seiko's wrong, I haven't worn it for a week!)
All in all, I'm very pleased with it. Looks good (IMO) even if it is rather close in design to a certain rather more expensive brand, sits nicely on the wrist, and is comfortable. How it will survive as a holiday beater remains to be seen. Only real disappointment is the lume; I tried to get a picture unsuccessfully, and surprisingly, for a pilot watch, the lume is not very good. Green in colour.
But at £136 with 2-day delivery, I'm a happy customer overall.

Had a look on their website & at the risk of being predictable, at that price point I'd rather have a Citizen or Seiko
For me, I REALLY wanted a phantom-type watch (black/black/black) and they're not that common, so this not only fits the bill but IMO looks pretty good too, and at £130 it's not breaking the bank.PIGINAWIG said:
Cheers for the update - I just pulled the trigger so should receive next week.
Apologies for 'copying' your choice!
No problem - sincerest form of flattery and all that! Hope you enjoy.Apologies for 'copying' your choice!

I did ask the UK importer today about the lume and he admitted it's "frustrating" in his words that it's so "subtle" (also his!). But overall the watch is great.
