Frankly I think this is one lousy idea.
Motorsport has always stood head and shoulders above many other sports for its complete lack of sectarian or political influence and I think its very sad that it was thought neccessary to establish the JRDA.
In the Pitpass report it mentions that Jody Shekter was the only Jewish F1 world champion. I would doubt if many people either knew that he was Jewish or could care less that he was Jewish. I have no idea what religion any of the other drivers are and neither do I care.
I would implore the JRDA to think again. Lets not bring religion into motorsport.

Although I totally agree with A scotsman with regard to the need or the correctness and some may say bad taste of forming a JRDA, as after all surely this is racism backwards.
But to say that motorsport has always lacked political influence, sectarian or elitist influences is not strictly true. Over many years your country of origin has played a significant part to what sponsorship and sometimes scholarships have been available to young drivers.
Politics and political influence has been a significant part of motorpsort over the years. I have also heard that during the 50's and 60's that it was an advantage to be bi-sexual to open doors and gain backing from certain Elder statesmen within the sport. It would be wrong and possibly liabless for me to name names but I have heard these stories from two very prominent British drivers who are now in their late 50's early 60's. I have also read that during the 1960's and 70's Porsche liked drivers who were talented but preferable a bit on the posh side.
In the end unless you have a major talent that is going to spring you into F1 at an early age, if not then a little bit of talent and a huge cheque book will get you a long way irrespective of your nationality, religion or political influences. Money does the final talking.
If you are going to oppose the JRDA then you may need a lawyer or even an accountant...... hmm where are you going to get one of those then as the Devil said to God.

After the behavior of Max Mosley and comments from Bernie Ecclestone regarding the financial crisis one wonders if this is [still] true?Frankly, I don't really care one way or another about this drivers association. I suppose at best it could attract more positive interest/involvement in motor sport.
Perhaps they shall have entry criteria similar to the Polish Racing Drivers Club of America who were one of the competitors in Brock Yates' original Cannonball Runs in the '70s.
To be a member you had to fit one of the following categories:
1) Be a Polish Racing Driver.
2) Be a non-Polish Racing Driver.
3) Be a Polish non-Racing Driver.
4) Be a non-Polish non-Racing Driver.

Why do I get a slight feeling of dejection being aware of this development? Would Jody Scheckter even give a &*@# about this "Drivers Association"? Even though I knew he was Jewish for a little while, Does he even take it seriously? Mind you, it could explain his career move after GP racing selling firearms to the US Army (please correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, What's next? A Chinese Cricket Association? Some of you will get that.
It's not Jewish Racing Gold (as mentioned several times past my point of containment) it's Jewish Racing Yellow.
If it was JRG, it would be a specific shade of gold just as BRG is a specific shade of green and French Racing Blue is a specif......but I'm sure you get the picture.
The "humour"/irony is in referring to it (except on pistonheads of course) as JRY which encompasses ALL shades of gold.
So a gold XJS would be a Jew's Canoe in Jewish Racing Yellow.
