Offord exhaust mod - sounds like ?

Thinking of having the Offords modification on my 500, for a tad more 'prescence'.

But, will it sound like:

a) A yank muscle car / tractor at idle

or

b) More like a pre-cat

Would just like to hear of peoples experiences and thoughts on this mod.

(I know, I know, no arguments about 'my 4.0 sounds and goes better than any 500' - that's in nearly every thread)

Yes. I'd like your Y-piece I think but getting the pre-cats out is too much hassle.

Hi, My 500 has the offord sleeve mod (sports mod) sounds like a tractor at low revs, can't want to get shot of it, but not sure what to replace it with, i will see if i can get a listen to one fitted with an ACT system before i decide

its a personal prefernce thing really, I personally think a full decat with standard silencer probably sounds best, but definately remove the precats, engine will breath so much better and reduce underbonnet temperatures.

I did, and my car sounds OK. Not tractory at all. (Even when it works)

Offord's made my Griff sound agricultural, whilst the ACT Cherry Bomb sounds so much better.

I've tried a few things now, sports mod to back box etc but now have what I feel is perfect.

ACT decat manifold and decat y-pipe with standard back box. Sounds beautiful, not agricultural and has definitely better throttle response. Now seems undergeared as it will pull top from anywhere. I also have the smooth inlet and K&N filter.

Keep std manifolds = 0 cost
Keep std silencer = 0 cost
ACT dor Clive F e-cat Y piece = 350ish
De-cat std manifolds DIY on car = coupled of scraped knuckles and a long masonry bit.

All in, 350ish.
