Spitfire, Lancaster at Biggin Hill last weekend.

I found myself at the excellent Leefest music festival last weekend, not far at all from Biggin Hill airport.

We not only enjoyed the festival, Friday night saw a Spitfire passing overhead, Saturday afternoon we were visited by a Lancaster Bomber coming in to land.

Incredible stuff considering our refreshed state.

Was there an event going on at Biggin Hill at the time, or did we just drop lucky?

Late yesterday afternoon, the three of them together flew over us, a few miles South of Maidstone.
Wondered where they had come from.

Did the Lancaster come overhead?

It came in to land straight across the top of our Campervan, at low level. Incredible stuff.

Ahh so that's what it was. I heard something very rumbly going over and ran outside but missed it. I was sure it was the Lanc but couldn't think of anything going on to bring it this way. was there something going on at Headcorn?
