They may as well give Bruno a go seeing as the cars performance seemed to drop off quite steeply after the first few races and they arnt really competing for anything.

The stats don't agree. In races where both have finished it's 5:2 to Heidfeld. He also has two more points even though he has had two more retirements.

But fair enough compared to last year Petrov's quali performance compared to Nick has been impressive.

Might also have something to do with the fact Petrov's is Russian and brought 15m euros with him. Nick is one of many Germans and brings no money.

A shame, as I'm a Heidfeld fan, and dearly would've liked him to win a GP during his Williams or Sauber years, and hoped that Renault this year may give him a chance too....

I've always rated him as a driver, in same league as Webber. He is a driver who managed to look strong versus teammates such as Raikkonnen, Webber, Massa and Kubica - at least capable of holding his own on his day v these drivers.

However, with that track record, he really should have buried Petrov this year. He didn't.

Petrov and Senna is an appalling driver combo for a team that won championships just a few years ago. But Senna brings money, Heidfeld doesn't, and with the current championship position Renault have got nothing to lose.

They are better off taking Senna's cash, evaluating him. Then they can take their time to decide if they need to hire a proven topliner (Massa, if Webber goes to Ferrari?), decide if Kubica is fit enough, and see which of Petrov or Senna would make a better/wealthier number 2 in 2012.

I don't remember him thrashing Chandok in the HRT and I'm sure he didn't set the world alight in the junior formulae did he?

Petrov has improved a lot this year imo and he should easily beat Senna given he's hardly had much seat time in the car.

Its all about money! Heidfeld has (as proven by points) been better than Petrov this season whilst having some bad luck accidents aswell. Petrov brings money, Senna brings money, Heidfeld afaik does not.

Be nice to see Senna in a car though he seems like a nice chap who may have some decent speed. Heidfeld has had his chances too.
