The cars in the news reports from Libya seem predominantly Japanese. I'll start the list with the following:

Toyota Landcruiser MK1
Mitsubishi Space Star

I spotted a Skoda Octavia on the BBC earlier, struck me as a little unexpected.

What's a MK1 landcruiser?

Haven't seen many like this (circa 1958), and this isn't even the first one they made.

Saw a current Gen Hilux invincible, looked pretty bad ass armored up with an MG (not of the vehicular type) mounted on the back.

Kia saloon of some kind on fire.

Plenty of pickup trucks!

Best one was from the Tunisia uprising, that video of those blokes driving along the motorway in a forklift carrying a Ferrari 599 they had just looted.

On the news last night, nice straight old Land Rover Series III long wheelbase with a huge machine gun in the back. Very cool.

I did see a Lacetti the other day. So not only is it reasonably priced but its ideal for taking on the track or into battle

Made me think about another thread running on insurance.

"Any optional extras sir?"
"Just the large machine gun. Oh and a couple of rocket launches. Will that affect the premium?"
"Afraid so sir"

Cut to video of large machine gun being fired into insurance office...

It's usually a 70 or 80 series landcruiser they run about in (at least it was when I was in Libya).

Isn't the Tundra the slightly more posh version of the Hilux?!
