Non-buzzy wasps!

Hi, I'm seeing a lot of these wasps around....well I think they're wasps, they look like wasps, maybe a bit smaller but they make no noise. Are these still stinging little feckers or are they safe to aproach?

They could be (harmless) hover flies! Do they hover, then zip over to another place and hover again?

Yep, these are the little beggers. So no need to run away doing the wavey arm thing then.

no but they're easy to catch and feed to other animals...

must remember I'm not 12 any more...
