My mk1 mr2 is suffering from the usual rust problems around the sills which I have found a few body shops willing to do the work. The problem I'm having is finding somewhere to do welding underneath the car - am aware the front anti-roll bar mounts would need work / something fabricated and probably more work on top of that which may well mean its too far gone to save (tried a few local garages who do the odd bit of welding but said was too much work involved for them). Am in west lothian but willing to travel a bit, any suggestions / recommendions of places to try welcome.

Cheers

Hi mate, bit late but never-the-less...

You could try Chizfab in Lochgelly, they do all manner of prep work and fabrication though are more geared towards roll cages, shell strengthening and so on rather than bodywork.

Or, Rab at Harkness Bodyshop in East Kilbride, he's very much a one stop shop and undertakes some serious restoration cases. I have several mates who have used him and allare full of praise. Mine will be heading there ar the end of the year.

Hope this helps.

Lenny at LCS Engineering did some great work on my Range Rover Classic, and does some amazing metal fabrication and welding.

Definitely worth the trip to Helensburgh:

My mate's Dad runs PLD Smiddy up in Inverness if that is any use to you.

They are very good, highly recommended! smile
