e46 M3 Rear Diff

So, i had this rear diff noise... I got the rear diff oil 'so called' replaced, however 1-2months on its making the noise again (when cold).

Ideas?

Was it replaced like for like - or with the "FM" booster?

i was told the oil was changed....

There is a special oil with "FM booster" (from BMW), so if it was replaced like for like, that may be the cause. If you've got the invoice it should have the part number on, which should tell you which one they used.

my diff was noisy changed the oil (with booster oil) it was around £65 if i remember correctly. at first i thought it made no difference but after a couple of hundred miles was perfect.
