How the hell are you meant to do this???

We had a slight squeal at higher rpm, bought a belt and thought 'how hard could it be' - mistake. Anyone have any thoughts/ previous experience on this?? We've loosened all adjustment/ the air con compressor and it looks like it'll need the engine damper/counter weight off to remove the belt?/replace it??

eek

All done, the pulley came off with a bit of persuasion, then it was relatively straight forward. Tricky for access in places though!

Hi,
sand (file) two opposing gaps in the wheel of the auxilary drive,
as wide as the belt.
stick the belt in one of the gaps an turn the engine.
this way is the easiest, so you can change the belt every year
and there is no unbalance.
i´ve done it this way 2008 with no probs up to date.
hope it will help.
regards from germany.

Or just remove the lower pulley. smile

Once we had removed it, everything seemed straight forward, it was just tricky getting good access to the aircon bolts then.
