Eye (and contacts) test cost?
Discussion
Seems rather steep to me.
My eye test at Tesco was 15 pound, then you have your trial with contacts, see if you get on with using them and what works best (this was free for me with Tesco, may be the same elsewhere, but I haven't been elsewhere...)
Then my contacts are 50 for 3 months supply with 2 weekly ones

I payed £10 for an eye test, and scheduled in a free contacts trial but I had to book a morning off work for it. I turned up all excited about trying my contacts only to be told that due to my prescription they would need to be ordered in, exactly what I was told when I arranged the trial. They said to pop in in about two weeks time. I told them to p
s off.
s off.My local opticians would charge contacts and glasses tests separately so if you have both at the same time it would come to around £55.
I have used Specsavers but using the little local place has paid dividends in the amount of time they have fixed or replaced glasses, specifically the kids ones, time and time again and for free as well as spending a long time on the check ups and being happy to go through all the options and trials.

I used to use VE. Pay on their monthy direct debit scheme for my contacts. But over the months I had built up a collection so I cancelled that. I get free eye test from work due to using a computer all day. Also I find it is cheaper to buy contacts off the web than it is through an optitions.
