Where can I buy some poppers/ studs as commonly used on a tonneau cover. Now I have many of the male, female and backs to the studs, but I need a male than can be joined back to back with a female.

So instead of the screws shown above, they'd have a deformable shaft like the backs shown above.

Hope this makes sense!

I only need 2, maybe 3 encase I make a mistake.

Not sure if you can get smaller quantities elsewhere.

Edited to say you don't need the tool it's easy to make something that will do the job.

They look like backs and females from the picture.

I need a stud that can go back to back with a popper. Material in-between the two.

I've done this before using a pop rivet. Once you have set the rivet use the pin and drive it back through the rivet to eject the ball end. You can then use a centre punch to flatten the rivet.

I'll give it a bash with a rivet. I thought that the rivet head would get in the way but maybe I'll bash the hell out of it like you say.

I have bought these from Boyriven in Andover or from Woolies trimmers at a classic car show.
Woolies do mail order IIRC.

WooliesTrim for that sort of stuff. Think they only do them in packs of ten though. Always had very good service.

I've used Woolies before - mail order & at shows; there's also M&M Classic Car Trim (www.m-mclassiccartrim.com/index.php) who attend most shows & will do mail order although I don't see the items you want (or any fixings) on their website - you could phone & ask, may be, as an alternative to Woolies. Just a thought.

Hopefully that will help. I've found them to be really good. If that's all you are buying then give them a call and they'll pop it in normal post saving the courier costs as well.

I've always found them friendly and very quick service.
