Hoping to get some opinions about what materials to use, to tackle a new roof on my garage.
Garage is timber framed, and clad in corrugated iron, walls and roof. The roof has rusted through and needs replacing - it was built in the 40's!
I am looking for the bets cheap, but durable option.
Wickes sell bitumen corrugated sheets - seems a good alternative to more iron.
Anyone have any experience?
Thanks

The colour of them quickly fades. They don't support any weight at all and anyone trying to brak in just needs to lever them up a bit as they tear relatively easily and the nails pull through.

Apart from that they're OK

We have them on our stables, they are ok but 6 years on they are sagging/ deformed still works as a roof should, but its not a step foward in roofing, if you where to board the roof and then use these sheets sagging would not be a issue, but it would drive costs up and you would probably be, better of with a conventional roofing products

It's been pretty good surviving since the 40s, so why not more of the same. Maybe Onduline is the same profile and could be popped on top? Fibre cement panels are nice but more expensive.

I agree. Plenty on ebay

OPs profile puts him in London, so these have got to be worth a phonecall
