so it was either a work mate who did it as a prank, he wasn't paying attention and backed onto it or he thought he would experiment..... how is this his employers fault?

We've all been there, haven't we?

I mean, I've worked with compressed air and airlines for nigh on 35 years and I've lost count of how many times a high pressure airline has passed through my work clothes and found its way up the old ringpiece. rolleyes

At college we had a health and safety film about air hoses/ compressed air.

It was narrated by a dead pan Australian for some reason. He gave dire warnings about inserting hoses into other peoples anatomy and 'horseplay'.

It's funny what things you remember.

How can he sue them for him sticking it up there? He'd be better off to admit it to his wife and just move on. Scummers love to scum. He should responsibility for his stupidity. He'll get incapacity benefit for the rest of his life nOw which we'll have to pay for. What a leeching moron.
