Strange funeral procession...

Going through Drotwich, Worcestershire about an hour ago.

Lots of cars and a hearse draped in a flag, only got a glimpse but whatever it was it looked like it had a Maltese type cross in the middle. All the cars were matching sliver, none blacked out.

The odd bit....it had EIGHT that i counted police outriders with blues flashing!!! Stopping traffic out roundabouts etc.

Had to be somebody important in the box or in one of the cars surely? Never seen such a big Police escort outide of one of the televised "big" funerals.

Two weekends ago I saw around 20 riders in pairs escorting 2 or 3 cars with more riders behind, down the M11. Couldn't see the cars properly but it seemed WAY over the top.

That would imply a police crest (usually some sort of cross or shield) although a symbol associated with the Masons on a Policeman's coffin wouldn't be entirely unexpected I guess...
